CRREM analysis
Assessment of climate risk and stranded-asset risk per asset against the 1,5- and 2-degree pathways.
CRREM (Carbon Risk Real Estate Monitor) is the established method for measuring how long an asset remains within a climate-compatible emissions pathway. For owners and lenders, CRREM has become the practical language for physical transition risk.
What the analysis provides
- Stranding year per asset: when the asset moves from “within” to “outside” the 1,5-degree pathway
- Carbon intensity in kg CO2e/m2 measured against the CRREM pathways
- Portfolio aggregation with ranking by risk
- Packages of measures that delay the stranding year, with cost and impact
What it's used for
- Investment decisions and prioritisation of CapEx measures
- Reporting under SFDR, CSRD and GRESB
- Support for green financing and green bonds
- Strategic planning at the fund level
Our method
- Uses actual consumption data, not just modeled performance
- Sources scope 1+2 emissions from the actual energy mix per country
- Models the effect of planned and potential measures
- Updated annually as part of ongoing ESG reporting
