Design management
Leads and coordinates design consultants across disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
Design management is about keeping the disciplines coordinated from the first concept meeting to the completed tender documentation. Without a clear leader, disciplines drift in different directions and interfaces become conflict zones rather than collaboration points.
Our role
- Set up and lead design coordination meetings across RIV, RIE, RIA, RIB, ARK
- Set milestones, deliverable requirements and quality objectives for each phase
- Ensure that cross-disciplinary decisions are made on time and documented
- Follow up to ensure designers deliver according to agreed scope and quality
- Coordinate with the client, the project manager and ITB
Phases
- Early phase: programming and concept selection
- Schematic and preliminary design
- Detailed design and tender documentation
- Follow-up during construction and handover phase
What it solves
- Projects where disciplines work in parallel without coordination
- Documentation that is inconsistent when tenders are issued
- Late changes because early decisions were not anchored across disciplines
We step in as leader of the design team, or as support to the client's project manager. The goal is that what is handed over to the construction contract is buildable, cost-estimated and coordinated.
