Owner's Representative (BHO)
The client's representative for technical disciplines — coordinates consultants, oversees execution, and safeguards the owner's interests.
The owner's representative is the owner's voice on the project. When the owner lacks in‑house technical capacity, we represent them from concept selection through to handover.
Our role
- The owner's technical representative to designers, contractors and suppliers
- Coordinate consultants on the owner's behalf
- Verify that proposed solutions meet the owner's actual needs
- Provide decision support on concept selection, material choices and technology
- Monitor budget, schedule and quality for the owner
- Manage acceptance and handover, including technical documentation
What it prevents
- Decisions defaulting to the contractor's terms due to limited counter‑expertise
- Design choices that are cheap to build but expensive to operate
- Incomplete documentation at handover
When it's appropriate
- Property funds and family‑owned companies without an internal technical department
- Housing cooperatives and condominium associations undertaking large‑scale refurbishments
- Public clients requiring specialist technical expertise
We have no supplier interests. Our recommendations are made in the owner's interest — even when that is inconvenient for the project.
