Sustainable upgrade of Vestkanten shopping center.
The Vestkanten shopping center in Bergen is undergoing a comprehensive modernization of its heating and cooling system to reduce energy consumption and increase sustainability. The shopping center consists of a shopping center, a water park and an ice rink. From 2023 to 2025, existing bio-oil boilers will be replaced with an energy-efficient heat pump system that draws energy from both open and closed boreholes/wells.
This solution will cover the center's full heating needs and at the same time deliver 50% of the cooling needs.
The upgrade makes Vestkanten one of Norway's most environmentally friendly and future-oriented shopping centers, while improving comfort for both visitors and tenants.
