ITB coordination
Multidisciplinary coordination of HVAC, electrical, and building automation — so the building performs as designed at handover.
ITB — integrated technical building installations — ensures disciplines coordinate and the final delivery is tested as one integrated system, not a set of isolated handovers.
Our role
- Coordinate RIV, RIE and RIA throughout the project
- Clarify interfaces where responsibility is often unclear
- Define checklists and documentation requirements per discipline and milestone
- Develop test plans: component, integration and full system tests
- Lead commissioning, functional testing and documented handover
Phases
- Early phase: requirements definition and cross-discipline descriptions
- Detailed design: align drawings and functional specifications
- Construction: follow-up across disciplines, review of suppliers' applications
- Commissioning: testing, tuning and functional documentation
- Handover: documented protocol, follow-up into the operational phase
What it prevents
- Systems that are well designed but not delivered as a coherent whole
- Faults that surface in operation and are costly to fix
- Disputes between contractors over interface responsibilities
We can act as ITB lead for the client, or as a neutral coordinator for the main contractor. The goal is the same: documented, functioning systems from day one.
