New regulation on energy mapping for large enterprises

Tightening of the energy management regulation expands the range of companies required to map energy use — with a 2026 deadline.

The government has announced changes to the regulation on energy mapping for large enterprises. The amendments widen the scope, so more companies than before will be covered by the requirement for a systematic review of energy use and the identification of cost‑effective measures.

For organisations that have already implemented a certified energy management system under ISO 50001, the documentation requirements will largely be met. Other enterprises must complete the mapping by the new deadline and report the results.

We recommend that affected companies determine their status early — both to ensure compliance and to use the mapping as a starting point for concrete measures.
